After working on recipes most of the summer, after our disappointing, but expected finish at the Mills Mall BBQ competition, we entered the Ballwin BBQ Bash under our new team name of Porkin' Ain't Easy. We did relatively well, which made all of the practice over the summer seem worthwhile. Below are the results:
Over-ALL Ranking 2nd Place - Missed Grand Champion by 17 points out of 76 Teams Brisket 29th Place - 73 Points out of 1st, there were 70 turn-ins Pork Butt 3rd Place - 7 Points out of 1st, there were 68 turn-ins (Trophy)
Pork Ribs 11th Place - 32 Points out of 1st, there were 70 turn-ins
Chicken 9th Place - 30 Points out of 1st, there were 70 turn-ins
Chef's Choice 7th Place - 24 Points out of 1st, there were 68 turn-ins (1)
Chili 5th Place - 16 Points out of 1st, there were 64 turn-ins (Ribbon) Pork Steak 51st Place - 106 Points out of 1st, there were 68 turn-ins
Dessert2 6th Place - 39 Points out of 1st, there were 61 turn-ins (Ribbon) (2)
(1) Cooked Beef Tenderloin with Grilled Scampi Shrimp (2) Hilltop Apple/Pear Cobbler w/Carmel Drizzle
